This website at www.agingresearch.org (“Site”) is owned by the Alliance for Aging Research (“the Alliance”). By accessing this website and using it in any way (including, for example, browsing, using the information from the site, or providing information to us through the site, including your personal information) you agree to be bound and are bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms of Use”) including our Website Privacy Policy.

The Alliance reserves the right to change these Terms of Use at any time without notice, in its sole discretion, so check back frequently to review changes. Your continued use of, or registration with, the Site means that you accept and agree to the then current Terms of Use.

The Site Does Not Provide Medical Advice

The contents of the Alliance Site such as text, graphics, images, and other material (“the Content”) are for informational purposes only.

The Content is designed to support, not replace, the information provided by healthcare professionals and is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your health care professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition.

The Alliance does not recommend or endorse any specific tests, health care professionals, treatments, products, procedures, opinions, or other information that may be mentioned on the Site. Reliance on any information provided by the Alliance, its employees, or others appearing on the Site is done solely at your own risk.

Although our Content is often reviewed by medical professionals, the Alliance does not guarantee the accuracy, adequacy, or completeness of any information and is not responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results obtained from the use of such information.

Intellectual Property and Use of Content

The Alliance authorizes you to view, download, or print copies of the materials on the Alliance Site solely for personal and/or non-profit, non-commercial educational use. You may not make alterations to the Content; and you shall not remove or alter any logos, acknowledgements, or copyright notices located in the materials. No reproduction of any part of this Site may be sold or further distributed nor shall it be modified or incorporated in any other work, publication or website, whether in hard copy or electronic format, including posting to any other website. No other license or right is granted. Republication or redistribution of Content, including framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without the prior written consent of the Alliance.

This Site, all functionality and features, and Content are the intellectual property of the Alliance and/or its licensors, and are protected by U.S. copyright and trademark laws. Title to the Content remains with the Alliance or its licensors. Any use of the Content not expressly permitted by these Terms and Conditions is a breach of these Terms and Conditions and may violate copyright and trademark laws.

If you violate any of these Terms and Conditions, your permission to use the Content automatically terminates.

Information the Alliance Collects and How it is Used

We may ask you to provide us with Personal Information if you would like to participate in some activities available on, or benefit from services offered on, this website, such as signing up to receive newsletters. The Alliance considers “Personal Information” to include information that alone or when in combination with other information may be used to readily identify, contact, or locate you, such as: name, address, email address, or phone number. The Alliance does not consider Personal Information to include information that has been anonymized so that it does not allow a third-party to easily identify a specific individual.

If you choose to make a donation or other activity that requires payment, we may also ask for information required for billing and shipment, such as your credit card number, card verification security code, billing address, phone number, and email address.

We may collect Personal Information through your communications with our donor relations teams and payment affiliates.

We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law and this section of these Terms of Use. In accordance with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) (“DMCA”), if you believe any Content accessible on this Site infringes your copyright, you may request removal of that Content from this Site by submitting written notice, with your physical or electronic signature, to our Copyright Agent designated below that includes the following information (the “DMCA Notice”):

Children

The Alliance does not knowing or intentionally collect personal information from children under the age of 18. The content of our website is directed at adults, and therefore this site is intended for use only by adults over the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, please consult a parent or guardian before using this Site.

Anonymous Information and Tracking Technologies

When you use the Site, we automatically collect certain information that does not identify you personally, such as where you browse within the Site, traffic and location data and information about the computer and Internet connection. This information helps us to administer the Site and provide a better user experience. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold the Alliance and our third party business partners and licensors and each of our and their respective affiliates, licensees, successors and assigns and our and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors and assigns, harmless from any claim, demand, liability, dispute, damage, cost, expense, or loss, including reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation, arising out of or in any way related to your violation of these Terms of Use or your access or use of the Site, the Content or any user Content or submission (including any use or access by your employees or agents), your violation of these Terms of Use or your violation of any rights of another.

Jurisdiction

You expressly agree that exclusive jurisdiction for any dispute with the Alliance in any way related to your use of the Alliance site, resides in the District of Columbia, USA courts. You further agree and expressly consent to the exercise of personal jurisdiction in the courts of the District of Columbia, USA in connection with any such dispute including any claim involving the Alliance or its employees, contractors, and officers.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the internal substantive laws of the District of Columbia, USA without respect to its conflict of laws principles.

Territory of Use

The Site is accessible worldwide to any person with Internet access. This Site is controlled and operated by the Alliance from its corporate office in Washington, DC, USA. The Alliance does not represent or warrant that Content or the Site are appropriate or available for use in other locations. If you choose to access and use this site from other locations, you do so at your own risk and are responsible for compliance with any and all local laws. The English version of these Terms of Use and the Web Usage Privacy Policy shall govern.

International Users and Donors

By choosing to visit the website or otherwise provide information to the Alliance, you agree that any dispute over privacy or the terms contained in this Privacy Policy will be governed by the law of the District of Columbia, USA.

This website is hosted in the United States. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law please note that when you register with our website or donate you are transferring your personal data to the United States, a country which does not have the same data protection laws as the EU, and by providing your personal data you consent to:

The use of your personal data for the uses identified above in accordance with this Privacy Policy; and
The transfer of your personal data to the United States as indicated above.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid by any court having competent jurisdiction, the invalidity of such provision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of these Terms and Conditions, which shall remain in full force and effect. No waiver of these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or any other term or condition.

Complete Agreement

These Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and the Alliance with respect to the use of the Alliance Site and its content.
